LemayMichaud had the pleasure of participating in the grand opening event of the brand-new Simons in Halifax, the company's first store in the Maritimes.
For this project, the team drew inspiration from naval architecture, a strong symbol deeply rooted in Nova Scotia's history, and a heritage unique to the Simons family, who were sailing manufacturers in the 19th century. Through an articulated play of triangles inspired by folding and origami, the facades unfold like large white boat sails, a gesture accentuated by light and shadow effects.
Inside, a 'Shop in Shop' concept is implemented; departments are defined by architectural spinoffs, where each space reveals its identity through colours and aesthetics, inspired by Canada's great regions. Therefore, the gypsum ceilings in the main circulation areas serve to delineate the various departments.
The opening of this 17th store marks the brand's coast-to-coast presence in Canada.
Congratulations to all the teams involved in this important project, and to La Maison Simons as they embark on this new adventure in the Maritimes!
